FENDER JAZZ BASS – 1975

SERIAL NUMBER: 618766

NECK DATE: 02014241

DATE: 1975

Block inlays always look great on a bass, and with the slim ultra-playable Jazz neck, this bass is a winner!
Jazz basses are terrific all rounders, and the sound has that lovely, full, bottom end with a nice bright top end that can really cut through a mix…. and this tone has driven a zillion songs into the charts !

As the Precision had only one pickup, the Jazz bass was a huge leap forward in tonal range, and as amps capable of making use of the new improved sound became available, the Jazz bass really came into its own.

Block inlays on bound Rosewood fretboard,
Offset waist and superb comfort contoured body,
Lovely warm sounding Alder body,
Two single coil pickups,
Volume for each pickup and a pickup balance control- simple and really effective,
Slight checking on an original black finish,
The word ZAMA scratched into the top horn for some unknown reason,
The neck date reads as follows: 02= jazz bass – 01= rosewood fret board –42 =week 42 –4 = 1974 – 1
=1st day of the week (Monday).
