The Mustang and the Mustang bass were student guitars, aimed at the beginner and low budget player, but many musicians fell in love with its light weight and ease of playing.

The short scale makes the playing action easy, with a sound very different from anything else due to its unusual pitch register -particularly if you were a guitar playing /part time bass player in the band you felt right at home here…….

And if you were a Precision or Jazz bass player, you would probably be horrified – until the time to schlep it on the subway to rehearsal of course, and then you’d be very happy !
